Goodbye Portugal

Said goodbye to Neil, watched him walk off to work at his record-label. Packed our things, got to the airport, dropped the van and met again Ana, who had to leave the house very early to do an interview and then drove directly to the airport to say goodbye.
Again we were touched by such kindness. Hugs and Goodbyes, boys flew home, stepped native grounds again and that was it.
Full of memories, full of experiences, lots we can tell our pals.

Back to Lisboa

You may imagine it got harder each day to get our asses out of bed and up in the van.
Short sandwich and coffee at some bar and off for Porto, dropping the bass-amp (an Ashdown, never heard before but sounded phäntästic - as PD would say) to his owner Valentin who kindly left it with us for the whole tour except the last FNAC showcase at Coimbra, student-city like Tübingen, about two hours in the south, where we headed then.

FISH and Firewater at Club N101

Breakfast at 10h, check-out at 12h, goodbye to Neil who went with another band he's managing back to Lisboa for a festival-gig and then 4 hours to kill which we spent again at the Porto sea ... and with feeding Pidi who skipped the breakfast.

Hot Spot Plano B

Two hours for recovering after breakfast were well needed, as we slowly turned somewhat beat-up while drinkin' and not sleepin' over the whole week.
Drove to the sea by Porto were strong winds made awesome waves crashing at the piers were few suicidals dared to walk. Wow! Pidi had to be fed and so we sat down for a eat while Neil stayed in the van, securing the gear and had a snooze. Poor Neil!
Then go again, this time for a promotion show-case at CDGo, an independent record store in the heart of Porto.

Storks and the magic of Porto

Up at 8, load van and leave at 9 (we always unloaded the van at night for safety), quick coffee at a sandwhich bar crowded by smoking and beer drinkin' trucker-style-guys and served by a black lady who switches to perfect english instantly and without any reservations which by the way happened everywhere we went (at least by persons under, lets say 55) and left a highly positive impression on us even though we already knew that foreign movies are not synchronized but undertitled in Portugal.

Clean sound at the Algarve

Drivin' down from Lisboa to the Algarve turned out to be a nice but slow trip. We first dropped off Mel at the Doggy-Hotel, which was a country-sided park for animals whose feeders are on vacation. We thought Mel would have it good here and switched to Scorpions-mode for some pics with the self-timer while waitin' for Ana to come back (saw some new Scorpions-band-photos in some magazine Pidi brought in the day before).

What's FNAC?

FNAC is a shop where you can buy mostly books, DVDs, CDs, TVs, Computers and more. There's no such shops in germany or many other countries, so for german affairs this could be compared to Saturn and the likes.
Sometimes it's FNAC-only, often it's in the midst of a huge shopping mall on several floors with all other big brands in fashion, toys, eating and whatever you can imagine.
These shopping malls are open in Portugal 7 days a week till 11pm or midnight.

NO - more blogs

Fuck you. We won't write any more blogs. When you're on tour you want to play music and drink and you don't want to sit all day long at computers.
Ah naeaeaeaeae (PD in original, typed on an english keyboard, haha), sweethearts, just kiddin'. It's because we're headin off right now to drive Portugal up and down and we don't know if we can get our hands on internet computers during then. If yes, we're doin that, of course.

What's on a mans mind?

When they're on an offday, the Satanics switch from rocker- to tourist-mode, walk around Lisboa, manage to stumble across lotsa record shops where they spend the double amount of money not yet gained on vinyl records that are much cheaper than back home. When you're here, Satanics recommend to go to Groovies, Louie Louie's and Progrock's which are all in 5-minute walking distance.

The ocean and Mel

Blog Pic:

When you're standin on the balcony of Anas and Neils and look to the left you see the river. When you look to the right you see the ocean. I just said this to make you jealous, you cheap german camel drool, you!
As I write this we're sittin in the living room, Neil is yellin' at the TV where it's Sagres against Superbock, which means Benfica against Porto.
